Kyle Rudolph put up the best numbers of his career — his 83 catches were third-best in the league for tight ends, and his 840 yards were fourth-best. Yet, again, as is the case with Bradford’s precedent-setting season of safe calls and throws, repeating that isn’t ideal. (He was targeted more than any tight end, and was tops on the Vikings.)
They started in the right direction in last year’s draft by taking Laquon Treadwell in the first round, then this offseason put pressure on him to take a Year 2 leap when the team signed Michael Floyd in free agency.
Stefon Diggs looks to be much healthier, and Adam Thielen looks to match a big season last year. They weren’t lamenting losing Cordarrelle Patterson to free agency for a reason: As much as they miss him on returns, they have depth at receiver that they can exploit, and that’s what Shurmur does well.
Deion Jones exemplifies that speed. He used it to turn two of his three picks last season into scores.
That speed sets Jones, and the rest of his unit, apart.
“Deion, I don’t know if there’s a faster linebacker in the NFL,” linebackers coach Jeff Ulbrich said. “De’Vondre is not far behind, and then to add Duke. And Josh Keyes has speed. LaRoy Reynolds has speed. I mean, everybody — Jermaine Grace has speed. I’d put our group against about anybody when it comes Cheap Braves Jerseys to that.”
They added to that speed this offseason, bringing in Takkarist McKinley and Duke Riley Cheap Blank Hockey Jerseys in the draft. McKinley ran a blazing-fast 4.59 40-yard dash for a 6’2, 250-pound man. Riley, who is projected to take over the starting weakside linebacker role, was a top performer at the combine in the 40-yard dash with a 4.58, as well as the three-cone drill with a 6.89-second performance.
McKinley should help with the Falcons’ pass rush, building on what Vic Beasley did last season. Riley is already penciled in as the starting weakside linebacker.
